The Chicago student union took to the streets to get heard,
And to demand accountability, it's what they deserve,
And the teachers out there are ready to strike,
Chicago stop playing games, and fund the schools right,


Tennessee mama bears sound the alarm
about the TNReady tests that are ready to cause harm,
Let's be clear about evaluations based on tests,
We say stop that madness it causes pain and stress

Are politicians really being sincere?
Or just looking for a way to reduce opt outs next year?
ISTEP to Indiana to draw attention to what's going on,
Politicians out of touch different singer the same ole song

Don't take it personal governor Pence, take offense,
your education polices lack common sense,
I'd talk about NAEP scores but do I need to say more,
I guess bad policy didn't help, neither did Common Core,

Stop blaming the teachers and labeling schools,
These self-proclaimed experts are looking more like fools,
I'm trying to teach well, not teach strong,
I'm sick of that premise, plus the connotation's wrong,

The pendulum is swinging, the momentum's not stalled
Out in Jefferson county three board members just got recalled,
In Delaware they want to punish schools if students refuse,
It sounding more and more like state sponsored abuse,

In Massachusetts they're done with Parcc's Common Core Test,
Change is in the air I wonder who drops them next,
I saw BATS on the SCOTUS blog, taking more action,
Changes to ESSA show that our movement's got traction,

Vermont's Board of Ed said the tests don't mean much,
They're not Smarter Balanced, they're basically out of touch,
Keep an eye on Buffalo and the receivership showdown,
And stand in solidarity before it's in your town,
